2022-2023

Timmy Trumpet Visits Ithaca

After hosting a concert in the fall, the brothers weren’t satisfied with just one concert. With many houses on campus hosting artists for Slope Day pregame events, ZBT decided to have another concert. Timmy Trumpet, an Australian DJ, had his first-ever fraternity concert at the ZBT House in front of a crowd of almost 1,000 people in attendance.

2023 ZBT Spring Formal

On May 4, the brothers of Zeta Beta Tau had their annual Spring Formal. The venue this year was Gratitude and Grace, a lovely venue just outside of Ithaca with a beautiful barn. Many of the juniors who were abroad were able to come back to Ithaca for formal as well. It was a great ending to celebrate a great semester.

2022 Parent’s Weekend

Always one of the most coveted weekends of the year, Parent’s Weekend did not disappoint in 2022. There was a happy hour on Friday night for all of the parents and their sons, and some parents even stopped by Hideaway. However Saturday was the main event, with a delicious dinner made by the house Chef Bernie followed by a father-son pong tournament.

Annual Christmas Party

The seniors had their annual Christmas house party in October, an event fully organized, set-up, and run by the senior member class. The house was entirely covered with wrapping paper, and everyone showed up in Christmas sweaters.

Loud Luxury Comes to ZBT

On September 22, ZBT hosted a charity concert featuring the DJ duo Loud Luxury. The concert benefitted the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, and it also served as a kickoff for homecoming weekend. The concert ended up being a huge success, with around 800 people filling up the parking lot. The brothers are hoping to host a similar charity concert next fall.

2023 Member Class Joins

With rush chairs Ari Salsberg, Jacob Mayourian and Josh Underberg leading the charge, ZBT added 16 new brothers during Spring Rush. 17 brothers total joined the house during the 2022-2023 school year, with Noah Cordon-Siskind joining in the fall.

2021-2022

Slope Day’s Return is a Success

Slope Day is back at Cornell after being cancelled by the Covid-19 pandemic the previous two years. Brothers were very excited for the return of Slope Day as only the Seniors had been to one before. Aminé and Loud Luxury headlined the event, bringing Slope Day back with a bang.

ZBT’s Spring Formal Goes Well

ZBT’s annual Spring Formal was held at the Lake Watch Inn, the same venue as their Winter Formal. All of the brothers had a great time at the event, especially the member class of 2022 who had never been to a ZBT Formal before. It was a great event to wrap up a great spring semester.

ZBT Hosts Car Wash for Gift of Life

On April 24, the brothers of ZBT held a car wash to raise money for Gift of Life, a bone marrow registry that aims to help patients battling blood cancer. It turned out to be one of the nicest days of the Spring, and lots of people came to Edgecliff to get their car washed and enjoy the weather.

The Juniors visit Europe for Spring Break

Since almost half of the juniors spent the second semester abroad, most of the remaining Juniors decided to travel to Europe for Cornell’s Spring Break. The juniors spent a lot of their time in Barcelona, where many of the abroad brothers lived. Some highlights of Barcelona were seeing a soccer game at Camp Nou and going on a boat tour. The juniors spent their second half of the trip in Amsterdam, enjoying the beautiful city and vibrant night life.

The Seniors go to the D.R. for Break

While the Juniors were in Europe, the Seniors decided to have a more relaxing trip for their last spring break, traveling to the Dominican Republic. The seniors rented their own private villa at the Casa del Campo resort, spending the time by their own private pool.

ZBT’s Annual Snarty is a Blast

ZBT had their annual snow party (or “snarty”) on February 5 after it snowed around a foot in the days before. The brothers cleared out a large chunk of the backyard so that people could hangout, enjoy the bonfire and play die. Tons of people showed up to enjoy the snow, and it was the first event after the new Member Class was initiated.

A New Member Class Arrives

After an excellent rush week planned by the rush chairs, the Kappa Chapter is proud to announce the new Member Class of 2022! This year 20 young men accepted their bids to Zeta Beta Tau, a number matched by few other fraternities on campus. The brothers were very excited to have a mostly normal rush week after a hectic online rush week the year before.
